Freebie Review – Free Science Vocabulary Folder – The Science Penguin

This Freebie Review comes from The Science Penguin TpT Store.

Everyday my students are given new terms to remember and it gets confusing.  Not only are there many terms, but often names in science sound very similar (i.e. chromosome, chromotid, centromere, etc.).  They have their notebooks but after a few weeks of a unit, it gets pretty full and finding those terms can be difficult.  I teach high school science and I can appreciate how useful it is to have these terms easily accessible for quick reference and review.

What The Science Penguin has created here is a means for your students to keep the terms in an easy to find location.  However it’s more than that.  The beauty of this idea is that it is multifaceted and sees to many learning styles.  Take a look at the image below.

Science vocab

What you get with this product is an idea you can utilize effectively in your classroom, no matter the subject.  The idea is to combine the term with its definition as well as a picture or pictures.  This learning through association will see to the needs of your students be they visual learners, kinetic, etc. and allow them to retain and review effectively and efficiently.

This resource I feel can be used across many science grade levels from early elementary to introductory high school.  The resource can be found by CLICKING HERE.
